The fulfillment of every big game hunter’s dream comes a step closer with ownership of this magnificent showpiece of rifle craftsmanship. The main scene, with flowing hand-engraved arabesques covering the whole of the action and chamber surfaces, presents two African ”Cape” buffalos in majestic posture. The bolt is embellished with the head of a lion, whilst the lever brandishes that of a leopard. The floor plate is adorned with the engraving of an elephant shrouded in leafy scroll, while on the trigger guard a rhinoceros emerges from behind some savannah grass. The stock is made of finest Turkish burled walnut of the highest calibre. Like the Take Down Grizzly, the Sauer Big Five exemplifies mastery in gun-making and virtuosity in the artistic talent of engraving.
